Bulletin-10-11-20.pdf

We are excited to celebrate the baptism of Averie Ann Rennhack this Sunday, outside by the parsonage. Don’t forget to bring your own lawn chair & to “Social Distance”.

If you prefer to listen from your vehicle, the service will be broadcast on radio station 92.5 FM (The Broadcast is over a “shortwave radio” so you will need to be in the parking lot to hear the service.)

Please print or download the bulletin to your phone/tablet/iPad so that you can follow along with the service.

For many, baptism marks us with the cross of Christ on our brows for the first time. Often in the Lutheran church children are brought to a font in a public gathering to recognize God’s claim upon their lives, and the lifelong journey of the Spirit sending them out in mission for the sake of the world. And since it is a lifelong journey of faith, often called faith formation, people enter into Christian community through baptism at various ages and stages in life.

We are a church whose unity is in Jesus Christ, who gathers us around word and water, wine and bread. Baptism is a significant part of our faith journey as we come from the baptismal waters to live a new life as children of God.

Our baptism sets us out on a lifelong journey that is characterized by our relationship to God, our relationship to our faith community, our relationships in our community and the wider world. Living our baptismal covenant means living a life of growth in the faith practices of discipleship.  If you are interested in learning more about about our church, please email us at office@orfordvillelutheran.org.
